There’s no such thing as INSTANT..in real life

A student of mine during one of our class discussion asks a question, Sir! how come we students must reach a certain age before we can marry? I replied, – First, we need to grow up and be responsible enough before getting into married life. We need to think about what would be the best for both our partner and ourselves and not play a passive role when deciding when the right time is and who we should marry. Second, we should have a sustaining job in order to support our family. Lastly, we shouldn’t let marriage overwhelm us. It is something to be treasured for all our lives and when the time comes.

Let us not be in a hurry. People nowadays are always in a hurry. They get bored easily. People want instant remedies to their problems. They want instant solutions.

“A fruit that is quickly ripened tastes sour, but a fruit that is ripened in season tastes sweet.”

In the case of our students, they want to grow up immediately; they want to experience being an adult. They want to imitate us grown-ups. They are selfish enough to understand. When they are tired of waiting, they want quick-fixes to their problems. They want instant solutions.

In a society full of problems and tribulations, we need to PERSEVERE. Perseverance is to allow time to pass without counting that it has passed.

Perseverance means trusting that we will get all our goals in due time. Perseverance means not looking at mistakes but calling those mistakes learning experiences. It is much better to wait rather than to decide immediately.

Lesson? Let us be patient. Let us persevere in life. For people who persevere, there is no such thing as a mistake. For people who persevere, there is no such thing as a stumbling block. People who persevere, will eventually have a happy life.

  1. …yeah, nowadays kids are adventurous , self-seekers, and risk-takers… the present time seems to be so inviting, making them enter into an exigent world!!
…Persevering may just be too idyllic for a few ..is it because everything is being provided for some that they don’t actually get to feel how it is be independent and self-motivated in doing tasks on their own?? maybe, kids who get pampered at home may solely depend on people to get things done for them, and perseverance is just but a second thought..
…on the other hand, there are still families who inculcate good values and somehow train kids to set goals for themselves and achieve them… kids need to be inspired and taught.. and adults are sure likely to inspire them to THINK, ACT and DREAM BIG!.. their minds work like a sponge that absorbs everything said and done by what they perceive as “role models”… us..
..it’s a good thing there are authors like “dodingdaga” who inspire kids to wait, take time, and persevere!…
…keep it up, im sure, if i am a kid..looking forward, .. it’s all worth the wait!

  2. In a past-faced world, it is inevitable for us to keep up with the changing times. People have the tendency to be in a hurry because they do not want to be left out. These people are misguided. They want to marry at an early age because they believe that life would be easy for them, that as long as they love each other, they will surpass anything that will come their way. This is a wrong assumption. This is not an eagle’s song, but, love won’t keep us alive. In life, you don’t need to be in a hurry all the time. You have to think of the consequences of your actions.

Thank you for the insights. :)
